The Unit 4-Contest Olympiad will be held in 4 categories: Pull-ups, chin-ups, dips and push-ups
Participation is possible from 06 January to 07 February 2025 at 01:00
The second part of the Olympiad will take place in April with the same rules and exercises, so the participant will compete primarily with himself. The goal is to get a better result than himself by spring.
Anyone who visits the Unit can participate: group training participants, individual visitors, personal training participants and coaches
Prizes are provided for the three best competitors: 1st place: Unit fitness card worth 65€. 2nd place: Unit gift card worth 25€. 3rd place: Unit gift card worth 25€.
The distribution of prizes and results will take place on February 10 and 11, 2025
Prizes will be distributed separately in the women’s and men’s categories
Coaches are invited to participate but will not receive prizes. In the event of a coach’s victory, the first Participant after him who is not the coach will receive the prize
The Participant performs all areas with the maximum number of repetitions in one series.
COMPLETING THE TABLE
Each participant marks his result in the table on the wall as the number of repetitions performed. The marking can also be done by the coach
The areas can be performed on different days. The Participant does not have to mark the areas in the table at the same time, it is allowed to mark them at separate times
It is allowed to make several attempts, but after marking the result in the table, it is no longer possible to change it
The participant marks his name and the number of repetitions in the corresponding box in the table. The point box is filled in by the competition organizer
If the Participant uses a training rubber, he/she marks the number of repetitions with the abbreviation of the rubber color:
Yellow training rubber = kol, red = Pun, black = mus , purple = lil, green = roh, blue = sinine. Example: 7 sin
Kneeling push-ups are marked with the abbreviation “p” after the number of performances. Example: 20p. Push-ups that are performed partially on the knees are marked in the table as follows: 10t+10p (Participant performed 10 regular push-ups and 10 on the knees)
POINTS SCORING
The winner is determined by the combined result of the 4 areas in the overall points calculation.
Areas give different amounts of points. 1 Pull up = 1 point; 1 Chin up = 1 point; 1 Dip = 0.7 points; 1 push-up = 0.33 points
The participant may use a training band when performing pull-ups, chin-ups and dips. The use of bands will reduce the score. The points calculation for using a training band is as follows:
1 pull /chin up / dip = 1.5 yellow training band performances (0.66 points)
1 pull /chin up / dip = 2 red training band performances (0.5 points)
1 pull /chin up / dip = 3 black training band performances (0.33 points)
1 pull /chin up / dip = 4 purple training band performances (0.25 points)
1 pull /chin up / dip = 5 green training band performances (0.20 points)
1 pull /chin up / dip = 6 blue training band performances (0.15 points)
Training bands may not be used for push-ups, but the exercise may be performed on the knees. Performing on the knees reduces the points by half. 1 Push-up = 2 push-ups on the knees (0.5 points)
Female participants are allowed to perform push-ups as a dropset, i.e. start with regular push-ups and finish with push-ups on the knees. Dropset is prohibited for male participants.
TECHNIQUE
Pull-ups and chin-ups. In the lower position, the elbows must be straight, in the upper position, the chin must go over the bar. Explosive performance may be used. Kipping chin-ups (swinging forward and backward in the so-called banana position) are prohibited. The feet must not go behind the axis of the bar. The knees may be bent forward. Rest is allowed in the lower hanging position for a freely chosen time. When choosing a training rubber, the Participant must use a rubber that allows the Participant to hang at full length from the hanging position (elbows straight)
Dip. In the lower position, the forearm must be parallel to the ground, in the upper position, the elbows must be straight. Rest is allowed in the upper position for a freely chosen time. When using a training rubber, the rubber is double and the legs are straight inside the training rubber. When choosing a training rubber, the Participant must use a rubber that does not hold up his body weight
Push-ups. In the lower position, the ground should be a fist-sized gap above the chest for men, and two fists for women. The same rule applies to the performance performed on the knees. Rest is allowed in all positions where the chest does not touch the ground and the limbs do not change the location of ground contact or break ground contact
